A spatial data infrastructure (SDI) is a data infrastructure that employs a framework of geospatial data metadata, users, and tools which are interactively connected for effective and efficient use of spatial data to be communicated to stakeholders. The data/ information provider should be able to update spatial data stored in a repository using software client to display query and analysis, catalog service for discovery, browsing, and querying of metadata.
